Congrats on the new pup...a wonderful x-mas gift...as far as preparing...are you going to crate train(I recommend), if so do you have a crate ready...as for food, see what they are feeding and if it's not your preference than ask for some to mix with your new food to allow your pup to gradually adjust to the new food(I feed Eagle Pack..Natural but Nutro's good too...just kind of look around...there's older discussions on here dealing with food and such...just don't feed puppy food, even if it says large breed! Too much protein is not good for a growing dane.) As for toys, I recommend the kong toy because it's made of hard rubber and you can put treats in it to keep the puppy occupied. Toys that are safe and sturdy are always a plus for a puppy...you could even buy a few, cheap stuffed animals...they love 'em but be careful of the fluff you will get from them afterwards. You also have to supervise so they don't choke on anything. I'm sure the others will be helpful too...best of luck and post pics when you can..can't wait to see your new 'baby'.

That is so exciting! I show a blue dane bitch in juniors! Who are you get your new puppy from? You could ask that person what kinds of toys your puppy likes. The breeder would know, since they've already spent so much time with them. My dane just LOVES his bed, its a custom made, but they are really cheap, I don't know the website off the top of my head, but I'll find it & let you know. Did you pick out a name for it yet? Ttyl!

Anita

i was thinking of going to an upholster shop to get a bed. I think i am going to register him as Stonewood, and call him stone. He came from A lady in southern S.C. His parents are both blue, and his dad was beautiful.

Hi and Welcome to DOL. I love the name Stone. I guess I'am partial to that name because I just love Stone Phillips on the News and Dateline. Psst!!! Don't tell Hubby. LOL!!!!!

Congrats on your pup..what a great x-mas present!!!!

I love that name Stone

I also have a 3 month old pup, he's a fawn, my first dane.
He LOVES teddy bears and squeaky toys, I just throw them away once he breaks them open so he doesn't eat the stuffing.
For his bed I have a quilt that I fold up, he loves it, and easy to clean, just throw it in the wash.

You must be counting the hours till you get him...it's almost here!!!:)

Stone is a great name for a blue dane.

Might want to take a look at this site. My boy loves his bed. Especially with the fleece cover AND they label it as indestructable. We've had no chewing issues. Good luck!

I just got a new pup too. His name is Beau Bailey, at just 12.5 weeks he is almost 24" tall and 55 lbs. He is a beautiful Merle. He is my first Dane. He is my Christmas gift to myself. I am just so in love with him. He makes me laugh. I am going through a divorce right now and he has been my light.

Can someone tell me how to post a picture of him? I am not very smart with this whole computer thing....

Thank you for all the advise that everyone has been posted here. It has been awesome!
