If you could give me your experiences on how much your puppies weighed at 7 months of age. I've already looked at the chart, but I was just curious to know your experiences, and how much more growth there is between 7 months and 1 year. Just a curiosity!

Thanks Tara, do you have a picture posted of her? Our girl will be 7 months next week, what color is your little (big) girl?
Mira was about 72# and 30" at the withers. She is now a 1yr and is 32" and about 120#. She is going through a false whelp right now and she gained weight so she is high on the weight scale. She should be about 110#. We are in the process of dieting :)

My puppy Floyd turned 7 mos on the 9/16 and he is 31" tall and 103 lbs. He is not neutered. I think he may be slightly on the small side for a male but he looks good to me. :)

Angie, first off what is false whelp?
My girl is a month behind, she is 6 months and tiny, I hear everyone talking 70+ she is maybe 24-25" and only 52 pounds. I worry alot she is to small, but she is healthy and eating. I cant imagine what her end size will be, I might be first person with a full grown Dane weighing only 70 pounds.

Gus my blue boy was about 90# & 32" at 7 months (he's now 118" & 35" at 10 months (rear higher so another spurt soon ) :o . He's a big boy, big boned but showing ribs, so not chunky at all.

I had a Pyr who topped out at 76#, so it does happen, but Dane's grow so sporatically I wouldn't be concerned, ask her breeder how mom and or dad grew, they usually grow a lot like their parents did.

Hi
I had to respond to the question of weight and rear end being a bit higher. especially because our dane pup, 5 and a half months is about 105 lbs or so right now, He is sleek and not chunky, and the vet was delighted with his appearance, so I am guessing that was good,(vets always mention it when they feel an animal is even approaching being overweight) I believe that his rear end is higher(or so it appears), Does that really mean that the frong end will grow accordingly, thereby expecting a growth spurt shortly? I thought it was a bit higher, but I thought that perhaps I was overanalyzing.
Anyone have a puppy who has or had been higher in the rear ever? He has an incredible pedigree and his lines are excellent rear and hop wise, so that really does not concern me., Just curious tho,,,is this the age when incredible jumps in growht occurr??

Yup my breeder had warned me that freakish things would happen to my guys body sometime after 4 mos but not to worry. From what I understand this is normal and is called "puppy uglies" My guy is 5 mos now and is neither high nor low in the rear anymore but his legs need to grow because he looks like a rectangle :D right now instead of a square. I love watching all the changes. :)

I have noticed Floyd's growth has also started slowing down recently and I think the weeks of gaining 5-10lbs are over. I was just looking at my calender and he has barely grown in the last three weeks so I would not worry about your puppy. :)
In six months you will probably look back at his weight now and laugh about the time you were worried he had stopped growing. I know how you feel though! Floyd is my first GD puppy and I worry about the littlest things too!

Our female pup is 14 weeks old, 53lbs and 22"

the rectangle was a great analogy. my dog looks like a cheetah bc he is just sooooo long. i was thinking it wasnt normal bc he really isnt that tall just long as anything.
>Angie, first off what is false whelp?
It is false pregnancy. She just came out of heat about a month ago and now is going through false pregnancy.
