We have two great dane´s, a black man: his name is Scar and almost 9 years old. The female`s name is Milkshake, a harlequin and she is 3 years old.

Writhing english is not one of my favorite`s hobby:-( so please forgive me my mistakes)

Welcome! My husband and I lived close to Leiden (Koudekerk) for a year(2001) and we have two Dutch Danes, Mickey(May 1, 2001), and Shrek(April 8, 2003). We also have an Am. We give Scar his name because when we see him the first time he had a lot of scar´s on his body so the name was quikly found.
Milkshake get her name because she had a big spot on one site of her body en several spots on the other site an bleu eyes.

Welcome! I love Holland, my husband is Dutch, born in Enschede. We travel every other year or so over to visit relatives.

I understand much more Dutch than I can speak or write, and I must say I think you're English is great, wish I could write Dutch as well as you write English!

Hai Debbe, I know Christel en i look to the pictures of your dog when the are little:)
When you now when you come to holland, let me now:) so we can mete.
The end of march (28) we walk with arround 80 danes on the beach, its nice when you are here so you can see that.


Janet, we learn englisch on scool (looks wrong writing haha) every child has to learn it. Many people have problems to learn dutch, its a strange lanqwitch:-(
Ik can speak beter than writing hihi and the most i understand.
How do you call the collor of your dog? Here in holland he get a paper where they say that the collor is wrong.(noy using for breeding) Is it in america the same?

Kari, your dog is beatyfull, so white. The most of the white dogs are deff, can he heare well? Is her collor good for the paper?

Hi Whera,

Gunner is what we call a merliquen, a mismark, and not right at all for breeding. He was neutered at an early age because of that.

Your dogs are mooi, I love the size and colors of both of them, I hope you post most photos. Milkshake is a great name!

I think it's a very good thing you have to learn so many other languages in school over there, it's too bad they don't make us here.

Aha, i didn now wat a merlequen was, but now in now:) Here you call all kind of mistake collor N.E.K. And the people ho have danes now the meaning of it.
Sometime there is a magic N.E.K. Dit you have this kind of danes in america also?

With the dog is nothing wrong, onley the collor of the skin.
The most people here specialy want a N.E.K. because they are cheaper and some peaple like the collor more than de regular collors.

Abouth the two dogs on te picture, the father is black and the mother is harlequin:)
