Hi
When mantles were first approved for showing in the US did it take some time for judges to get used to them? By that I mean, were very few of them winning to start with? Mantles have just been approved here and Mia is one, she will be shown for as long as we feel like it. I'm just wondering because my breeder said it will be hard with a mantle, and when we introduced her to a judge it turned out a lot of them hadn't seen them before so might be a bit leery of putting one up...? Might be wrong, just curious really, I don't much care about winning, my girl just has a really good time which is why I like the shows. People are very curious about her, most people haven't seen one before.

There are several Mantle Champions already and the standard is very clear as to the correct range of markings. Good luck with your girl.

Thank you! How long ago were mantles introduced there? They only accepted them here last year, just before my girl was born.
Mia had her very first show the other week and got reserve bitch (tee hee there were only two being shown). She had a ball though, in all the pictures her tail was a blur and the judge was grinning at her.

I believe they were introduced in 1998.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh no, sorry! I'm in New Zealand as Gwenna said. Was really just wondering how long they've been around over there. Thanks.
