Here is an interesting site http://www.idausa.org/campaignsf.html
If you click on puppy mills at the left then go to resources upper right, it shows how many puppy mills are in each state.

IDA is an extremist AR (animal rights )organization using your outrage against animal abuse to fund a campaign to take your legal right to have pets away. As they say--"we don't own them". These sorts of AR as opposed to AW (animal welfare) organizations use the money you send to actively work to take away the rights of pet owners everywhere, want to take away service dogs from the blind & deaf, work just as much to get rid of reputable breeders as "Millers." PETA says in its manifesto that euthanasia is preferable to the slavery that is petdom. Don't let your emotions be manipulated by people who want to take away your rights & "rid the world" of domestic animals. If you love your pets, learn to tell the difference between AR & AW organizations & DO NOT support such organizations as the HSUS, PETA, VOA, ADL & IDA. For more information see:
www.capitalresearch.org/books/AnimalRights.htm
"THE HIJACKING OF THE AMERICAN HUMANE MOVEMENT"
and join such organizations as:
ARPO (Responsible Pet owners org.)
NAIA (Nat'l humane domestic animal support org.)
www.naiaonline.org

AND BTW it doesn't show "how many puppy mills are in each state" (although they SAY that), nor is it true that they did ANY "investigative work" to find out this posted info. What they list is the FDA registered commercial breeders. Any citizen can get that list for the asking from our govemernment under the Freedom of Information Act.
They just mislead you into thinking they've got all these people working to shut down PMers, when what they want (prominently displayed on everypage of horrors) is for you to give them money. That money goes normally to PACs (political action lobbyists) in WA DC to pass new laws restricting your rights of pet ownership. For example? many people do not know that the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) runs no shelters, saves no animals, has no kennels--it lobbies Congress & tries to get laws passed. That's it's "raison d'etre" & where your donations go; not towards the relief of suffering of the animals so pitifully pictured on its donation request literature. Beware--these folks have great PR & know just how to push your buttons. Be smarter than they think you are & don't be manipulated. Get the facts. jpy
