I was just given 50#s of Pedigree. This is fine for the boxer she`s always eaten it,but is it really adequate for giant breeds?Proteins 21%,but what about by-products?How nutricious could beaks and feet be?Raider was fed Pedigree by the breeder too?I switched him to Nutro lamb and rice because it just sounded better.I want to feed him whats best for him,and my brain is ready to explode from reading all the "diet" posts:)My Goodness,I think this has become more complicated than feeding my kids!Good thing I love Raider just as much!;)

Amen, macaroni and cheese and hot dogs worked until Alexis was 5 why can't it work for Tyla!!:7

All I can say is that we tried Pedigree can food and she didn't like it and I can tell you neither did I when I opened the can....NASTY, smelling and looking!!

I know someone who has had many, many danes on pedigree, and they have all done fine.

I recently attended our local dog show and spoke with the dane breeder/handler about what he feeds his dog. He said pedigree 27 out of 28 years of showing and breeding danes. I was surprised, but his dog is beautiful and I guess that speaks for itself (along with good lines). Just a note...

It`s funny lots of people I`ve talked to say Pedigree is great. We always used Ped. with our Dobie, and our Boxers breeder uses it,though I suppose there might be a little difference between Boxers and Great Danes!LOL I guess what I`m questioning is are you ever 100% sure you`re feeding them the best thing possible?!?!:) :(

When we first got dogs I tried several foods and finally settled on Pedigree (small kibbles) with come canned Pedigree (chunky or chopped beef) mixed in. However, when we got Seqia she improved somewhat on it (small wonder given her previous food), but still not to what I liked. After trying Nutro I settled on "Premium Edge" lamb & rice for her and she's doing great on it, with a bit of the Pedigree canned mixed in. The other 9 still get the Pedigree, simply because they're all doing well on it and it IS cheaper than the Premium Edge.
