This is Katie Scarlett O'Hara (Kitty) this is our first try at stacking her. Just wondering if she might have what it takes. Any comments? I know the stack is far from perfect, I am thinking about getting "Happy Legs" anyone know if they help?

She is cute! I love her registered name and I am sure that Scarlett's mom will as well.

Her angles in the rear look a little less then preferable...but it may be the way she is stacked...which is important to be able to see exactally what the dog has to offer...

I have used Happy Feet but you need to get them big enough to use for a Dane and around here they are hard to find...I used them when I showed Boxers ALL the time and they are great...just get something you will be able to get big baby Dane feet on...

And don't quote me because the picture is very small but her tail looks like it is a vertabre or two short...

If you are wanting to show, are you planning on leaving her natural are you thinking about cropping?

We are getting her cropped in N.C. next week by Dr. Bill Martin. So I should get the Extra large Happy Legs?

I've never used them but I do know some owners make their own using large coffee cans, filling them up with cement. May be worth a try and loads cheaper. Good Luck with your pup. :)

You can get them in Extra Large or just use the coffee cans like Dee suggested...

What area is that vet located???

I forgot to mention that her markings are very nice...did you buy her as a show prospect...how old is she?

The office is in Asheville. Thank You, we have looked for a long time to find a mantle pup with markings like hers! She will be 9wks on Friday. Yes we did but she is a member of the family first!

Dr. Martin is awesome. He used to show and breed danes.

He has cropped many litters for me and others around the Southeast. In fact, I think he just recently cropped Logan's new girl.

Good luck with your puppy.

[QUOTE=DelightDanesTrain;427705]And don't quote me because the picture is very small but her tail looks like it is a vertabre or two short...

QUOTE]

Her tail may appear short because of the amount of white on it but from what I can see from the picture her tail is an acceptable length ending at the hock joint. Here is what the standard says regarding the tail:

The tail should be broad at the base, tapering uniformly down to the hock joint.

Length of tail is one of those things which are not of the utmost concern. My BISS CH boy's tail is not as long as I would like but I finished him at 12 months with four majors, so it must not have been a problem. <VBG>

Mantles are hard to evaluate from pictures as the coloration can play tricks on your eyes. I prefer to put my hands on them so I know what the structure is.

Will you be showing in the South?

Kaos is a boy!!! However, Dr. Martin also cropped Kava's ears, so you are half right!

Square, good feet, good front and rear angulation and tail set. Not sure about the head. Can't see it well enough in the pictures.

Still have a lot to learn about conformation, but I think she is very pretty! What are 'happy feet'?

Gone With The Wind has been my favorite movie since I was six. I decided a long time ago that the next dane we got would be named after her!!:D
