So I can't remember if I ever posted about Fritz's eating problems, but here we go again! I feed Wellness, the chicken, fish and sweet potato formula. He was up to 130 lbs at almost 33", 8 months old. He has heavy bone. Over the last few weeks, I've been lucky if he'll eat three cups a day, and he is down to 121 lbs. Went to the vet, nothing wrong. Of course, he will eat any kind of cookies I give him. I hate to switch foods, but he can't afford to lose any more weight. Someone suggested a food higher in protein, but I'm afraid to raise the level. He loves BARF(especially the RMB's), we attempted it a while back, should I just forget kibble? Barf just wasn't practical traveling back and forth to shows all the time. Please help!!!!

Hi
I have had problems over the past with Jonah not eating much everynow and then, but it never lasts for long, but at these times he will not turn his nose up at something like a piece of bacon, etc, but he just goes off his kibble for some reason, his diet is half kibble and half raw chicken, beef bones etc, at these times I never have problems with him not wanting his chicken etc, just his kibble, it is so fustrating, but for a while now he will eat his kibble if I add a little bit of good quality tin food to his kibble, not much ,just around half a cup, at the moment he is eating really well, but he is due any day now to do his normal,, .. I dont want that today, , I have been wondering if it is around the same time he has his monthly heartworm treatment, .. not sure , but I will soon find out as he had one today ,so I will have to wait and see,
Anyway goodluck, they can be worse than kids sometimes!!
Susan and Jonah :)

Gypsy's eating habits, or noneating habits is more like it, have driven me nuts since I got her a little over three weeks ago. All her ribs show, and she is a picky little thing! She has seen my vet twice now for checks and she assures me Gypsy is fine. I've tried several different foods and she is rather indifferent to them all. Some days she eats well, some days she doesn't. Yesterday she ate maybe one cup total. I've just decided to stop obsessing about it. As long as she acts fine I'm not going to worry about it anymore. When she's hungry she'll eat. I have been adding a little canned food and water to make a slurry, which she prefers, but I'm considering stopping doing that, since I'm tired of wasting her expensive kibble! x(
Oh, and this morning, she inhaled 1 1/2 cups! Wish I were as indifferent to food as she is - I might weigh less!;-)

Thanks guys! I decided to go BARF...last night he inhaled 2.5 lbs chicken and this morning he picked at his veggie stuff and as soon as his brother walked away from his dish(he just gets kibble) he was right in it like it's any different than the kibble he was getting!!! What a brat! I guess he just doesn't like veggies! But of course now Dawson thinks he's missing out because Fritz gets different stuff! Oh well. You can't win either way! I guess we'll see how this goes! Thanks again!
