Can anyone give me any feedback on Eagle products? I have heard alot in reference to this brand and Danes. Any suggestions?
The greatest happiness in this world is owning a GREAT DANE.

I use the Eagle Natural with both of my dogs and they seem to like it well enough. Neither of them have soft stool, but I think it's a very individual thing. Some dogs will, some won't.

Axel is also feed the Eagle Pak Natural Formula 23/12. In the mornings he gets 1 teaspoon of flaxseed oil & 500mg vit C. Also 500mg in the evenings. The flaxseed oil is really great for his coat, I truly recommend it. Axel is exactly 5months old today, (Happy birthday Axel!) and eats 10cups daily. Here's a photo taken in the yard on July 4th.

Yep, it's sure amazing!. Axel's gaining around 20lbs a month! Went to the vet on July 3rd for Heartworm med and he weight-in @ around 70lbs. The boots you see on Axel's feet is to prevent him from scratching his ears when he's crated for the night or at work. I'm taking the tape off on wednesday. Two weeks on, 1 day off. He's doing really good, the last 1.5" was still floppy the last time. It might take a while to stand cause his crop a long show.(But my fingers are crossed!!)
Anne, 12days left! and I'm counting!
Congratulations! you must be sooo anxious,Emma's such a beauty! I just love the one she's sitting on that step! THat's a real keeper!

Thanks, Dan! Yes, our home has a constant air of anticipation about it now. The cats even seem to know something's going to change (and I'm not sure they don't seem to show a bit of dread mixed with apprehension!). I am constantly wondering what she's doing and how she's feeling. I just hope these next couple weeks fly by quickly! Work is torturous when all you can think of is baby dane! }>

Mojo has been on Eagle Natural since we brought him home. He's now 15 weeks, 50 lbs and looks very healthy. He eats 5 and one half cups per day, and loves his food. If we let him, he'd probably eat a lot more, but I've read that it's better to keep them on the lean side. He gets 500mg of ester C in the morning an Enzyme tab, and a small dollop of plain yogurt in his food. There is a lot of info on foods and resources in the danesonline archives. A link I found in the archives that was very helpful, re: feeding was this one:

Good luck! :)

My Dane Daisy is 3 and has been on Eagle Natural since birth. Recently though it was recommended to switch her to another Eagle. I don't have the name of it right now but it's lamb & rice based like the Natural but has a lighter purple bag. We switched her due to excessive scratching and bare spots that haven't responded to anything else. The new food doesn't have any wheat, corn or yeast which we were told are the most frequent allergy causes (which are usually the cause of skin problems). After only about 3 weeks her scratching has stopped and her coat is coming in beautifully. I strongly recommend the Eagle food but now I prefer the other Eagle lamb & rice over the Natural.
By the way, at a fairly big girl size she eats about 7 cups a day at 3 years old. That's about 8 oz size cups. She eats it in 2 feedings per day. Her weight has remained stable at around 120 lbs. since she stopped growing. The vet says she is the absolute perfect weight for her size, so I think the Eagle has been great. Her health has also been excellent, other than the itching thing. As far as stomach health she has not had any diarhea or vomiting problems since an illness as a small puppy, so the Eagle brand seems to keep her healthy.
