lure coursing

I was wondering if lure coursing is safe for danes. We took our danes to a dog day event and they had lure coursing for all to try. Well my dogs loved it. So I was thinking of getting a portable one for them. I just don't know if it is safe. Any thoughts? Thanks

Danes were originally bred as hunting dogs. So go for it!

I wouldn't see any harm in it. I have a friend with Irish Wolfhounds and have thought about joining her for a lure coursing event. They sometimes let other breeds run after the sight hounds are done and I would gladly let my dogs give it a whirl.

Should be a fun way for them to burn off some energy!

That is the goal! :) I just am a little afraid of injuries like acl or neck.
but if you think it's ok, then I just need to convince hubby to build or buy one:) Thanks
