Hi!

I have been lurking on the boards the past few days and finally decided to register. I love these boards, they are fantastic.

I am currently the proud auntie of my sister's 9 month old Dane Abby and I steal her every chance I get!

My husband and I have been in our new house for about 6 months and we have now officially decided on getting a Great Dane!

I am doing as much research as I can on breeders in the area and I look forward to the day when I can post my new baby on the boards!

Welcome! I'm over in Bellevue. There are a few other locals around too!

PS also there is a Dane in Monroe in need of a catless, male dogless home. :D

Hi There and Welcome!

I'm fairly in new here too, but in Seattle and the proud Mom to a 4 month old Dane 'girl' named Willow.
She's a complete delight.
Congrats on your new house.
I recently heard of an informal gathering over at Marymoor Park on Sunday afternoons of Danes and their people . . . that might be a great place to keep researching the breed and talk to owners and enthusiasts of the breed. I can't wait to go myself!

all the best

It's around 1:00, usually more towards the back. Pretty hard to miss though - generally around 10 Danes or so. There are some really nice people but we find Marymoor to be a bit overwhelming! Watch out for the water, its yucky and some of the rock areas are really dangerous. Um ok...yeah I'm overprotective. :7

Oh, don't forget to bring $1 for parking!

Good to know there are some locals around here.

We took Abby to Marymoor a few times and each time she came back with either ticks or some new parasite, so we have stopped taking her. Although, that was in the spring when a bunch of standing water was around, but it just isn't worth it.

However, my husband and I go there a lot by ourselves just to walk around and give free pets to the rare dogs that stop by to visit us :)

I would also be interested in hearing about any good or bad local breeder experience(s)if there is any to offer.
