- feeding(s) at what time(s) of the day? Noon and 6 pm
- fast or slow eater? very slow eater
- ground or raised feeder? raised feeder
- free access to water? yes
- allowed to exercise/play right after meals? YES! which iis why this happened......
- if known, did sire/dam/littermates encounter this issue? wouldn't know...
- gastropexy - before/after the incident? after incident
- oncoming warning signs, if any? none... just found him swollen and not moving...
- how long after a meal did the incident occur? 4 hours
- time of incident? 4 pm
- sequence of events? he must have ate and played shortly after eating.
- vet involvement? yes. surgery was required.
- outcome? he survived, lost his spleen and 2 liters of blood into his abdomen from his spleen ripping apart from his torso
- further comments? I wasn't careful enough after he ate... I use to be a nervous wreck about this happening but I got lazy and allowed them to play after they ate. MY MISTAKE COMPLETELY
