View Full Version : Digging
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my 6 month old from digging up my yard? He is making some pretty big holes. He goes out to do his business and will stay out just a few minutes and he starts digging. We have a large fenced in yard. I have recently tried putting some of his "business" in the holes, but he just goes somewhere else and digs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi,
Take a look at this http://www.doggiedoor.com/diggings.shtml

Thank you for posting that Paul. It was very informative. Ever since we started putting up our fence Foster and Morgan get out there and just have a ball with tearing up any patch that's even slightly green. That will help loads. Maybe now I can start back up on their training again because work seems to be slowing down for a little while. Oh well. Thanks again. Heather and crew

That was a great article Paul.
I haven't had TOO much of a problem with digging in the past with my dogs. I think it is because, as the article talks about, I have always tried to include my dogs in every part of my life (that is appropriate). After they are crate trained, I've always given them the run of the yard while I am at work. When I am home, however, for lunch, and again after work, my dogs are inside our "den" with me. When I'm off to the store, the dogs have always gone with me.
It makes a big difference in the household harmony.

Thanks for the info. I will try to work with Max. He is never left outside, usually we go with him, so I guess he just like to dig. I had a Dane before Max and I don't think he knew how to dig. This guy is totally different.
Thanks Again ~KimB
