I lost my beloved rottie mix (Jazmine) to cancer a month ago today. I went to a shelter and adopted a new puppy a couple of weeks ago. My vet took one look at her and said "Great Dane"! I found this site, and have been looking at all the pictures and various discussions on Dane behavior. She certainly seems to fit the bill. Her name is Brietta Kathleen (means Strong and Pure in Gaelic). We are calling her Bree for short.

Here's her picture.... Do you think she looks like a Great Dane? She is probably a mix, but she seems to have the Dane looks and personality from what I've been reading here.

I'm not familiar with the brindle. She appears to me to be a full blooded great dane. Although sometimes if they are mixed with especially a lab - it can be hard to tell. If she was even mixed with a lab - she wouldn't have a nice brindle color to her. My personal opinion is full blooded. There are a lot of experienced dane owners on here that will be able to help you. They may prove me wrong. You will not regret adopting a dane. They are the most phenominal animal I've been around. I will personally never own another breed. One more thing... if I were you I would post those pictures with you question under the topic: General Breed Information. More people may read it there and help you with your curiosity. She is beautiful! :o Thank you for adopting from a shelter. And I am very sorry to hear about Jazmine.

She probably has some dane in her, but she isn't full blooded. Her muzzle/face doesn't look too much like dane and her paws and wrists are too small for her to be 100% dane. Its great of you to save that gorgeous girl from the shelter though! She looks like a real sweetheart!

Hi and Welcome to DOL! Congratulations on your new baby. Hard to tell what she is at this age, but she does looks 100 percent "angel" to me. :-(

Wow, what a beautiful puppy! She looks full blooded to me! We just brought home our new 8 week old puppy and she is very feminine in appearance. Her feet aren't as big as some I've seen and her frame is smaller but she is all dane. She's a merle so I get ALL kinds of comments on her. Most of them are asking if she's a dalmation mix.:7
