2010 DOL Calendar submissions and Cover Dog Contest

We are now taking submissions for the 2010 DOL Calendar and Cover Dog Contest. All proceeds will benefit Great Dane Rescue.

Submission to the calendar is free, see below for entry fee information for the Cover Dog contest. You must register in the gallery with your DOL Username to upload photos. Once registered, you can upload photos to any of the available galleries. Please identify the dog's name and any other pertainent information when submitting photos. You may submit as many photos as you wish, but please do not submit the same photo to more than one category.

All subject photos need to be very clear and sharp, of high resolution, and preferably uncropped. Max file size permitted will be 4 megs and 2048 pixels at the longest side. If the picture appears grainy to you and the resolution is low, we may not be able use them. No professional portraits or copyrighted photos permitted.

We are looking for a sampling of the great dane's different colors and patterns. Any pictures that you think are interesting or unusual in any way. Photos including people will need to sign a release. There are special sections for color, seasons, holidays, and a puppy, senior and rescue section.

to compete in the Cover Dog Contest:

To be eligible to compete for the 2010 DOL CALENDAR COVER DOG you must Buy Paul a Beer between November 18, 2009 and midnight EST November 27, 2009. After making your donation, simply add your photo to the "Cover Dog" album in the submission gallery. One photo permitted for each $2.00 donation. Only Great Danes are eligible to become Cover Dog. You may submit a photo that you have already submitted to one of the calendar categories as your entry. Donations will be verified before voting begins.

Voting will begin at 6 am EST, November 28, 2009 and run until 12:00 midnight EST on November 30, 2009. Voting will be done by the membership of the DOL Forum. Winner will be announced on December 1, 2009.

Cover Dog winner will receive:

$50.00 donation in their name to the great dane rescue of their choice.
$50.00 gift certificate from RescueMeTugz
A DOL Goodie Bag

Great Idea! LOVE it! Oh...and I accidentally entered Cleo's B.day photo twice for the cover shot. It's her "serious" face (give me my cake, lady) shot!

I need to get some good (subjective sine he is an ugly teen atm) shots of Faust. The only ones I liked were when he was a baby.... and then they made me wish he was a baby again.

I went with a younger shot of Kaos, but I LOVE the photo. He appears as though is literally is coing through the page!
